About UTERINE CANNULA INSTRUMENT

A uterine cannula is a medical instrument used in gynecological procedures for uterine manipulation, insufflation, and aspiration/injection. It is designed to access the uterine cavity and perform various tasks, such as:

• Insufflating gas into the uterus to relieve tubal obstruction or facilitate laparoscopic surgery
• Instilling a colored dye to assess for perforation of the uterus
• Aspirating or injecting fluids, such as sperm or embryos, into the uterine cavity

1. Cohen Uterine Cannula: Features an ergonomic design with a variable working end size and a bent shank for easy access through the cervix. It is used for pumping gas into the uterus and insufflating it.
2. Kahn Uterine Trigger Cannula: Used with a uterine tenaculum in uterine manipulation procedures, it features a thin, hollow tube for instillation of a dye to assess for perforation of the uterus.
3. Jarcho Self-Retaining Cannula: Designed for uterine manipulation procedures, it has a slightly angled tip with a rubber acorn tip to plug the external os opening of the cervix.
4. Intra-Uterine Insemination Cannula: Used for introducing washed and prepared sperm or embryos into the uterine cavity during assisted reproduction procedures.
